Hybrid Dam Shake Table Test
Project Name
Shake Table Model Test of a Hybrid Dam
Equipment Configuration
The test system included sixteen accelerometers with 10-meter shielded cables, four wired strain rosettes with eight 50-meter data cables, two sets of HP-DJ8225 Dynamic Signal Testing and Analysis Systems (16 channels), and four displacement sensors with 50-meter data cables.
Project Description
This experiment involved a shake table test on a 1-meter-high hybrid dam section model. The test program was designed to evaluate the dynamic response and deformation behavior of the dam system under simulated seismic loading conditions.
The main test objectives included:
measuring the dynamic acceleration, displacement, and permanent deformation of the concrete retaining wall, foundation rock, overburden soil layer, and downstream rockfill;
monitoring displacement behavior of the downstream slope;
evaluating dynamic earth pressure acting on the concrete retaining wall and its foundation.
The collected data provide valuable experimental evidence for the dynamic performance assessment and seismic design analysis of hybrid dam structures.
