Single Timber Arch Analysis
Project Name
Structural Performance of a Single Timber Arch
Hebei University
Equipment Configuration
The testing system included one HP-JY1006 Static Stress–Strain Testing and Analysis System, six wire rope displacement sensors, multiple strain gauges, and five tensile force sensors.
Project Description
This experimental study investigated the structural behavior of larch glued-laminated timber under different loading conditions along the grain direction. The results provide a fundamental basis for subsequent experimental studies and theoretical analysis of glued laminated timber arch structures.
Tests were conducted to evaluate the compressive, tensile, and flexural mechanical properties of larch glulam along the grain direction. For stability analysis under combined compression and bending, a commonly used circular glued-laminated timber arch was selected as the test specimen. The in-plane stability and load-bearing performance of the glulam arch were experimentally studied to determine the load transfer mechanism and structural response characteristics.
